Michael's goal in photojournalism is to capture moments. They are often prepared, but mostly extemporaneous.
Michael is an award-winning photojournalist who has served as the photo editor and photographer for Georgia Tech's student newspaper, the Technique. His work there included portraits, athletics, campus speakers, and various events.
His work spans 3 continents and over 12 countries, including as far south as Buenos Aires, Argentina and as far north as the North Sea off the coast of Scotland.
In addition to his work on campus, Michael spends his Saturdays photographing professional sports and various staged performances. Venues he has photographed at in Atlanta include the Georgia Dome, Fox Theater, The Tabernacle, The Masquerade, Centerstage, Gwinnett Center, Atlanta Motor Speedway, and the Robert Ferst Center of the Arts. Additionally, he has also photographed concerts in London and Paris. Atlanta, Athens, Jacksonville, Clemson, and Blacksburg are among the ACC/SEC domains he has covered sports.
His sports work has been featured in Sports Illustrated magazine and other print and web publications.
On many occasion, Michael also spends his Saturdays photographing weddings. He incorporates his photojournalism approach to capture the most important type of emotions and expressions: those that are candid. Rates start at $1200.
A graduate of Georgia Tech, now during the week, Michael attends graduate school at the Emory School of Medicine. He enjoys playing the piano, snowboarding, Atlanta nightlife, flyfishing, traveling, and meeting random people.
